Hidden Forest Farm

Our products are cultivated from specialty crops produced under Boreal Forest canopy. All products are sourced locally and produced ethically from various properties around the Temiskaming Region of Ontario.

Our Story

Hidden Forest Farm is founded by Chris and Tina Nichol. We decided to make change in our lives, to live more sustainably! We started studying forest food management and development, herbology, traditional plant knowledge and education awareness, as well as using some of these traditional methods in the creation of our products. We grew an urban forest food garden on our property and started producing various products made from trees and wild plants. We are now looking forward to providing our products and expanding in the near future to our other properties.

Each product is handmade using various methods such as distilling, drying plants, oil pressing and fusion to get the purest of quality. Traditional Indigenous practice is used in the creation of products by offering ceremony for all trees and plants harvested each year. Special plant medicines used our offered tobacco or a smudge such as the sweetgrass and sage when it is harvested. Tina is a Metis Indigenous woman from the Temiskaming area and has been practicing her culture for over 20 years and applying her traditional knowledge to producing high quality tree and plant products.

Other products include, traditional baskets (limited edition only), oils and creams (both pure for product making or mixed for other uses), tree and plant powders for soaks, and other cultural items by Liliane Ethier, Metis owned and operated, Natural Thredz Designs.
